LightCraft download: official files and installation

Download the official LightCraft file for your computer. The file comes from the storytold project. This site does not host the installer.

The version we saw was v0.7.1, on 2026-10-13. Open Releases again before you use a saved link.

Which file matches your computer?

On a Mac, the universal DMG works on Apple silicon and Intel. On Windows, match x64 or ARM64. Choose MSI to install, or the portable ZIP if you only want to unzip it. On Linux, match x86_64 or aarch64, then pick the package your system uses. Other files and the checksum list are on Releases.

macOS

Open the DMG and follow its window. If it shows an Applications link, drag the app onto that link, then open it from Applications. If macOS warns you, read that version's notes before you continue.

Windows

For MSI, open the installer and follow its prompts. For portable ZIP, extract the archive into a folder you can write to, then open the app executable inside. A ZIP viewed without extraction is not an installed application.

Linux

For AppImage, give the downloaded file execute permission and launch it. For .deb / .rpm, use your distribution’s package installer. A Flatpak bundle can be installed with the command below; approve the runtime only after checking its source. Tarballs are for manual extraction. Check runtime and GPU requirements before launch.

flatpak install --user lightcraft-0.7.1-linux-x86_64.flatpak

Download and install

  1. Confirm storytold / the app name on GitHub, read release notes and choose from Assets. Source code is for building, not a ready-to-run installer.
  2. Match the system and CPU. When supplied, compare the file with SHA256SUMS.txt from the same release before opening. A matching checksum checks integrity, not overall software safety.
  3. Follow the official installation or extraction procedure. Keep system protections enabled. Start with a copy of a non-sensitive document and check the application version after launch.

If installation or launch fails

This is storytold LightCraft, the photo library and raw developer, not Lightcraft Jetset, a lighting company, or lightcraft.pro. The README calls the app alpha and says measured camera-colour calibration is still missing for many raw files. Downloading again does not add that calibration. The same release includes a browser zip, lightcraft-web-0.7.1.zip. Open the Releases page again before you download.

If the file is missing, go back to the current Releases page. If the computer says the package is the wrong type, check your processor and download the matching file. If the system shows a warning, check that you got the file from the official page and read that version's notes. If the checksum does not match, do not open the file. We have not installed these files ourselves.

Where this comes from

File names come from the official README and Releases page, read on 2026-10-13. We listed the files that were there that day. We did not install them or review them for safety.
